BC E8 and the TII

history notes:
-bought 84 gsl with 12a
-had fun
-wanted more so bought cartech setup
-wanted even more
-bought S4 with a haltech E8 that were used together
-dropped in moter and started running haltech wiring
-everything is going smooth except.....

The O2 senser, the shielded grey and red/white go no where and there is no black anywhere near in that part of the loom

instead I have what looks like a O2 connector wiredin to J14:spare A/D #2 (trim) with what looks like a jumper wire set for a guage (black, red and white tiney wires) with the white wire tieing intoorange/yllow (spare A/D #4) then heading towards what i suppose is a guage. The white red and black small wires all loom together but are cut

I am not sure what to do here

Can anyone give me some insight on why this was done?

I would by pass that wiring, and simply setup your wideband 0-5v out put to either pin 12 on the 26 connector or to pin 15 or 16 on 34 connector( forget off my head, but its spare A/d 2 ) .

Following someone elses job isnt ALWAYS the best route.

( maybe they wanted to datalog twice via spare a/ds ? ).

best of luck

It looks as though that is what is done, I will have to confirm what pin is being used but it is on the Spare A/D 2 connection

What kind of O2 sensor are you trying to connect? If it's the stock or any other narrow band sensor, don't waste your time.

If you're trying to connect a wideband, use the single shielded O2 input and connect it to the 0-5V output of your wideband. Use the dedicated input for what it's there for. No reason to waste a programmable input when you have a dedicated input that will work just fine. You'll need to configure the type of sensor and scale in Halwin.

Thanks ludwig, I am not sure what O2 sensor the PO was using with this setup but I wanted to use the shielded wire.
I am going to use a wideband O2 sensor so just run the shielded to the output, and also a red white for power and black for ground?

You can. I usually do it that way. Power the wideband through the ECU fuse and use the sensor ground as the ground for the wideband controller. So yes, should be a gray/red wire for switched 12V+, black ground, and the shielded O2 input wire.

OK so for an O2 sensor all I have on hand is the one that came with my AEM wideband setup, Can I use that O2 for both the haltech and the AEM guage or is it better to just buy another o2 sensor?

If you have an AEM wideband kit, connect the 0-5V output to the O2 input of the E8. The sensor itself will connect to the AEM controller/gauge.
