E8 to Mazda CAS Wiring? ECU not seing RPM

Can someone please verify the wiring of an E8 to the Mazda Factory CAS?

I'm pretty sure I have it wired correctly, but my ECU is not seing RPM's during cranking.

I pulled the CAS out and spun it by hand as well to no avail. I tried a different CAS today as well, and still no dice.

Can anyone make some suggestions? I'm pretty confident that all the trigger and ignition settings are correct as well.

Did you set the trigger settings correctly?

Yes, pretty sure.

Multi-tooth Rotary
Reluctor
Reluctor
Falling
Falling
All gains at 0.

Then tried custom rotary with number of teeth at 24.

Trigger type is Multitooth 24+1 full cycle, like you said, reluctor reluctor, falling falling, then the trigger filter put it at 1 and the gain at 2. Im sure that will prolly fix it.

I have the Multitooth option and Custom Rotary 1 & 2 options.

Where do I input the 24+1 full cycle. That has me confused a bit.

I'll set the gains to those values as well.

Can you verify the wiring from the Harness to the Mazda CAS for me?

Right now, I have the following:

Mazda CAS - E8 Trigger Harness
Red -------> Yellow
Green ------> Green
White -----> Blue
White/Blk-----> Blue
(Red = 12V+ not used)

I'll be trying a new firmware this evening, and see how it goes.

Oops, nevermind...

Can you check with the comm program connected to see if you get any RPM reading with the engine cranking?

A quick and dirty test is to pull the CAS out of the engine, turn key ON, and then spin the CAS by hand...

I ground the CAS to the 2 4-core wires on my E11v2 and it sees RPM fine. Try playing with the gain and motronic filter settings if nothing else works - this fixed this same problem on my other E6X.

I just loaded in the new firmware, and now I have signal.

Settings/Gains are on par with what Claudio recommended.
