E6X Base maps.. how good does car run?

How good will my FC run with the basemaps for a E6X? Not planning on racing it or anything, but will it be ok to drive for a couple hundred miles if need be, to get tuned?

couple hundred miles?
I'm no EMS guru but I'd try to get it tuned sooner than a couple hundred miles.....

good luck man!

Well..I pretty much live in the sticks, and there is no one very close to tune.

I figure as long as you take it easy, the only real downside will be bad gas mileage and stinkiness

Feh. I couldn't even get my car to START on a hitman base map, but don't think they are bad. They are very good but you gotta use them as a starting point for your engine! Some people's start right up, mine didn't. In fact I almost gave up when I couldn't get her started for a day or two! But I got great support from my vendor, and we quickly figured out that it was just too rich. So tune it down and boom, she runs like a ****. But I've played with it for a while now and I'm getting pretty good gas mileage. I've got ~500 miles on the engine so far, still breaking her in. When I've finished breaking her in though, she's IMMEDIATELY getting tuned by a pro on a dyno.

That said, get a base map, tune it for no boost driving and you should be perfectly safe. Just play around with it until it runs smooth everywhere! Best plan of action:

1. Tune it for a smooooth idle when warmed up (let it run rough until it warms up then smooth it out)
2. Then while sitting still rev it to the 500 rpm increments, and tune it for the smoothest operation at each one - this is no load tuning
3. Then start gently driving her around and as you hit hills and stuff you'll see the load start increasing and just tune those bars!

You should definitely have a wideband O2 sensor at a minimum, and an EGT too if you can (I don't yet). Injector time at idle is typically around 1.8-2.2 ms from what I gather, to give you a benchmark. The rest of the tuning varies on your engine, porting, age, etc.

Yeah Hitmans map is too rich. I got it to start, but it fould out my plugs pretty fast. Im going to upload a basic start map soon. It will work pretty good. And will let u run the car inn. But it will not be mapped for boost. Only vacume.

This is for a streetported S6 engine with 550 pri and 1600cc sec.
