E6X 2.5 internal map sensor not working

i have everything hooked up to my haltech correctly and the vac is sucking like it should however I'm not getting any readings from the map sensor. Everything else works. I have the newest haltech software and it set to 2.5 internal map. I can't get it to work. is my haltech's map blown?

Try this, open it up on the fitting side, remove the 4 philip screws, see if the map sensor fitting where the hose goes is broken off, its not likely, but it can happen.

Other than that, what is your setup like, did you reset the ECU when switching to that map? also, you might want to try reloading the E6X default Base map, then reloading your map and making sure its working.

Everything inside looks ok. Yes I did restart the ecu after I switched the map sensor setting.

Try reloading the Base map, and then reload and see if the map sensor is working right.

Hmm, could this be a bad map sensor??

I think it is. I talked to Haltech today and they offered no help except to send it to them and see if they could get it to work. The load arrow isn't even showing up. The only arrow that shows up is the green selector arrow. Bad times indeed! I just sent this thing to them in Feb with a blow com port. Its brand new!!! I'm about to sell it and go with something else!

what exactly

Exactly what were you expecting Haltech to do? wave their magic wand and fix your ECU via telemetry?
If the software isnt working properly (ie the load indicator not working) then you probably have a software problem not a problem with the ECU itself.
And when you sent the ECU to them for the communications chip to be replaced did you have to pay for that?
(just so people are aware i used to work at an electronics repair store repairing TV's and VCRs etc and the communications chip that Haltech uses is the best one you can buy - the problem is the nature of communications chips, a spike of energy caused by plugging or unplugging a laptop into a mains power socket while communicating will kill the chip itself....there is nothing haltech can do to pretect against this - most electronics manufacturers will not do warranty repairs on a communications chip for this reason).

Hey Now there is an idea....i wonder if haltech has thought about that already???

Too bad USB has the same problem !!! Why do you think you have to hit the safely remove hardware icon before you disconnect USB devices????

I don't thinks its to prevent damage to the com port. Isn't it to prevent damage to the device, in the case of devices that are powered by USB.

Ok screw USB, I want the next ecu to have bluetooth. How about that.

well i guess the internal is blown. I got a 3 bar ext. today and put it on and BAM! works! So I guess I'll just ext. bar it... I'd like to use the internal but I'm not waiting another 2-3 months to ship it and have it fixed

Do you have the latest firmware in the ECU???

I mean it should have if it has the internal MAP sensor in it - but stranger things have happened !
