e6k Fuel pump/ injectors/ coils... power?

The harness from the e6k i have has fused and relayed power for the fuel pump as well as the injectors i believe... I am running 4 smart coils... Can i power them off the same source as the injectors or do they need thier own fused and relayed 12v power source?

thanks!

depends.

Depending on what your asking? Your asking? If you can power your injectors with the same source as the coils?

The E6X diagram (samething...)
I never installed aftermarket coils, not too sure but, as they show, their on different sources: coils get their own power and then signals from the E6k Unit, and the Injectors get their power from the main relay though with signal from the E6k Unit.

I honestly don't see why you couldn't run them off the old power lines.
Unless your building a racecar... and every single source and line?
Not sure if you ripped up your main ECU harness and 2 sub harnesses, if you did, thats a lofty task and good luck.

I would personally use a single higher rated relay, like a 40A, feeding 2 different fused power sources. A 20A for injectors/ECU and 20A for coils.

Warning.Do not turn the power on, then start altering the ECU settings for the Coils.
Alter the ECU settings first.
I fried a Coil when "my tuner" sat in my car,ecu on,re-configuring my Ecu to accept IGN-1A'a from a Stock TII setting.
POOF!..brand new coil, literally up in smoke.
Just to be sure Zaridar, I would get a hold of Chris Ludwig on this.
The wrong way tends to be a little expensive.

Guess that anwsers...

Well, to your question, it would be NO, you can't two source and seperate fuse, or as sub-harness, stock fuse box. w/ the e6k units fuse box...

or very short answer NO:
do they need thier own fused and relayed 12v power source?
They need their own fuses and those fuses need their own power

What I meant was post fuse, post relay.. Split power wire and run to both the 4 coils and 4 injectors..

(to CVcruiser ) haltech "2 sourced" 1 relay to 2 fuses in their own supplied harness.

Zaridar - there are a couple threads in this haltech forum about smart coils(as a matter of fact, it was in a thread you started https://www.rx7club.com/haltech-foru...ght=smart+coil) that also talk about wiring them.

Pin E connects to battery positive through a fuse and relay

Spark mode needs to be wastespark. Double check this before you connect the coils. See my thread on direct-fire v. distributor mode.

C.Ludwig has said that when using 4 smart coils they need their power source on a relay controlled 20 amp fused circuit, implying their own relay conrtolled fused circuit

By running them post fuse on the injector power wire, the little 10amp fuse in the stock fuse/relay harness would pop very quickly, and we all know that is not smart to "just stick a bigger fuse" in the spot that was intended for lower rated circuit. So no, that would be a no no. What I was saying for simplicity, was to use a 40A rated relay to supply power for the 2A ECU fuse, 10A injector fuse, and a 20A coil fuse (haltech already uses a 30A fuse to power both the ECU and injector fused circuits)
-OR- you need to add an additional relay and 20A fuse specifically for the coils

Thanks... Seemingly, I think I still have that Coils fuse... Injectors fuse stock/e6k . . .
relay derb. Eatherway I need to spend few hours un-pinning couple toys, majority of the E6k unit correct, but it's E6k wired with the E6X diagram.

Well, I can't say where I saw this, but isn't their a set or a kit to Un-pin and pin relays as well as connectors? I used dental picks and a old motherboard extraction kit.

... I usually call depinning warping and mangling.

Yes, there are several de-pinning tool sets out there, just do a google search on "harness terminal tool kit" . I know plenty of people out there that use small screw drivers, dental picks, and push pins as well. The real key, however, is knowing how the terminal is locked into the connector and how to disengage it w/o mangling everything
