Direct fire FC coils with HPI4?

Is it possible to remove the FC ignitors and run the coils directly off an HPI4? I know the normal answer is to just run IGN1a's, but I have a desire to keep the OEM coils in the engine bay for this project. Just wondering if it's even possible. I know Banzai has some instructions on how to run a secondary trailing igniter from either a second FC coil pack or an FD ignitor to get rid of the toggle system for a PowerFC. Wondering if its possible to wire the leading in a similar way or if it will always fire in waste spark.
