Did you premix after removing the omp?

I thought if you removed the omp from the car it threw you into limp mode. On my s5 I have it tied to the strut tower :S

Are you able to go online with the ECU, is it powering up? Did you check the fuses? Did you short something?

Does the fuel pump prime when you turn the power on?

so yes i know this is the haltech forum. But other wise every thing seems to be working good but when it starts i sounds like it is on one rotor. Im just not sure what to check out. All power seems like it right every thing powers up.

Did you check compression?

vacuum leak or maybe a injector connector (they are around the omp lines - could have removed and switched them)?

hook the OMP back up and see what happens. I am not a fan of not running the omp. Have you ever seen housings that dont get enough lubrication? Not good at all.

sometimes you will get iffy signal with a spark tester. Easiest way is to *carefully* pull the spark plug boot off the coil slightly while engine is running and check for arcing spark

on an s4 the omp is mechanical the car will run if its hooked up or not... on the other hand if its and s5 its electronic controlled... but like you said its and 87 so i would go over all the things you had to remove to get to the omp and check all your connections and make sure you have the correct fuel to premix ratio it should be fine

exactly. even if it was an S5 he has a haltech, so it wont matter. whatever your problem is, it is just coincidental that you started having problems when you removed the omp. you are premixing correct? meaning, putting 2 cycle oil in the gas tank with the correct ratio?
