dashpot function?

First I would like to go on record that I dont like the search function on this or any forum.

I finally got the FD running and trying to get it to work ok enough to get to the tuner.

I've run into a "glitch" with the idle control.
It wil be idling fine in closed loop and I rev the engine then the BAC duty goes to 50% which is over 2000rpm and it gets caught in a decel fuel cut loop.

You know, vroom, vroom, vroom, vroom....and wont go back to closed loop idle control unless I turn it off a restart it.

It doesn't seem logical that this 50% BAC duty that it goes to on closed throttle wouldn't be adjustable, but danged if I can find the setting.

Anyhow its a '94 FD stock throttle body and BAC valve with the mechanical dashpot removed

Running Haltech PS1000 and using ECU manager 1.13.1

any input would be appreciated.

Start position is the setting you're looking for. You have it set too high.

Does it return to start position every time on closed throttle?

Need to verify, but I think the warm start position is set to 35% why would it get stuck at 50%

Incidentally the warm idle settles in right around 30%

Yes. It should return to start duty any time the TPS goes to 0%. Set start duty a few percent higher than what the actually duty will be to maintain the desired warm idle speed.

Is the TPS sensor properly calibrated and returning to 0% in off throttle situation?

First, thanks for taking time to help me on this.

The tps has been calibrated and reads 0% at closed throttle.

I'll be going over to work on it more tonight, I'll be able to get the actual numbers but I think the start position is 5% above warm idle now.

I'll post actual numbers tonight would it help to see the tune?

Yeah. Send me your map and, if you can get a log, that as well. chris@lms-efi.com

There's no reason it shouldn't work correctly if setup correctly.

I certainly expect that I've set something wrong, probably something else too...

Oh what else will raise it's ugly head?

Looks like I figured it out

It was idling at about 31-32% and the warm start value is 35% definitely not that.

I started zeroing out the values for A/C, P/S, and electrical load and voila it dropped down to 35% and adjusted itself down from there.

I have a switch hooked up to trigger a datalog, but it's not working. Tested before I started the car, but now no go.

Ill have to attend that.

Ive sent you the MAP.

thanks, Victor
