Haltech Connection error??

Connection error??
I'm trying to connect my laptop to my haltech f10x. When I tried to go online i got "Error- Unable to go online, please check COM connection and reset ecu." I'm pretty sure the com setting is right. I tried turning the car on and off and i got the same message. I'm clueless please help!! Haltech F10X in a 89gxl w/ s4 t2 motor.
