Close-loop Wideband jumper? Old haltech F9

Old school haltech - F9 specifically but applies to E6 stuff as well i hear

The manual says that in order to enable wide-band (0-5v) closed-loop O2 sensing, I need to "install a jumper" and that in order to discover the location of the mysterious jumper, I am to contact Haltech.

Well I did, and the response was basically that the F9 was made before anyone at Haltech was born, and that I will need to have a hoodoo mystic contact the spirit world and talk to one of the dead inventors of the thing to figure it out.

Or ask online.

My hoodoo contacts are a bit hit or miss these days, and although I put word out, i figured i'd check in here as well.

I see jumper stuff on the PCB - but do i ADD a jumper, switch a jumper from one set of posts to the other? Thanks in advance!

Seriously nobody knows? It would be VERY helpful to plug the O2 sensor into the ECU, for data logging alone, let alone closed loop!

I can't believe their manual specifically omits this information, yet takes the same amount of text to explain how I must contact a haltech rep, none of whom know (or care?) enough to help. Makes me reluctant to even get one of their newer systems - can I expect the same level of support for that?

Good luck. You may have some luck cruising the Australian boards. Someone on ausrotary may be in the know on ancient Haltech hardware. There are guys on EFI101 that have been at it for a long time. Might get lucky there.

Another option is a 3rd party logger, such as the Innovate LMA-3 or DL-32, or a wideband that logs itself. Something like the Innovate stuff will prove a lot more useful as a logger than the old Haltech stuff.

As far as your frustration with the lack of support, I've been an active dealer with Haltech for almost 10 years. The F9 pre-dates my time with them. Haltech was very upfront about not continuing support for the legacy products when they moved forward with the Platinum line. It's common practice for companies to do this. As an example, Microsoft stopped XP production in 2008 and ended mainstream support a year later.

puts hands up as having tried to tune an F3 ,, and e6a ( a long time ago )
[ i was there doing that also with the first microtech screwdriver adjust systems ]
,, recalls the jumper game on the old haltech units but dont recall having to enable o2 before so cant help

if its not in the older manuals then not much help will be found,.but suggests you look perhaps both in F3 and e6a to H FSMs
the early haltech ( well,, all haltech ) documentation is far and above offerings from other brands and there is much to be gleaned by scanning the various E6 literature , not all of it in the one spot
