buying haltech, which coils to buy with it?

hey, Im new to the haltech system. I have an OLD Microtech (like made in 96') EMS. It does pretty good, but I want to run some new technology with my new setup. anyway I think im gonna get the EX6 and I would like to buy some new ignition coils with it as well. they have some on their site for sale, which ones would work best for our engines? Also I may use a aftermarket ignition Box with this Haltech are those compatible with this EMS?

Personally I would try the coils and see how they work for you, this way you can save some cash and if you don't like them, buy the new stuff.

As far as what people use there is a whole gammut of stuff. The 8509 box, I think, it common with 4 coils. Just check out some MSD and Crane boxes that don't have any kind of RPM limit or other fancy stuff because the E6X can do that stuff. Just find a good ignition box and 4 good coils.

the turbo II coils are very simple to install and very rugged and easy to find cheap. no need for the exotic and sometimes fragile aftermarket ignition parts. unless the engine is going to use a large turbo with tons of boost I would spend my money else where. I have dynoed engines near 400hp with the stock turbo II coils and have raced them for years on my own car without a failure.
