It is, but why is it happening? As you can see it impairs the use of the programming software, those wierd symbols are all over any number that isnt a 0 is blocked out like that.

Looks like some kind of font issue or maybe even low-level vesa problems.

When you run this are you in windows running a command prompt? If so try to boot from a floppy only using dos then try.

Another suggestion maybe a connection type issue but I have no idea how you communicate with the haltech. Does the haltech use a serial connection and work like a tty?

I am getting a haltech next week probally so once I look at the system I will be able to help you. I plan on running Linux as the os and running Dosemu to talk to it.

Go download a Vesa dos driver and give that a try. Seriously it may work....some of the newer laptops have video cards that actually don't support dos. So if you download a vesa driver (which is the standard for dos) then it may work...something to atleast try

The same goes for large hard drives, USB, and a lot of the components found on modern computers.

Man its been a while since I have dealt with Vesa drivers...hell its been a while since I have booted in Window's or Dos.

What I would do is go to google.com and search for "download VESA drivers" or maybe "Vesa video drivers"

Worth a try. If not call haltech and bitch them out for not releasing the Halwin for E6K and demand they find a fix for you....if they can't tell them to send you a E11 for free

You guys might want to see if you can get your hands on an old DOS boost disk and boost up from there. I am running Windows 98 on my Dell p75 and the E6K software works flawlessly.
