Question aem smart coil e6k

Yes I know its a dinosaur but itswhat I have. I been runing my stock fc coils. I wired in the aem but now im stuck on 2 leads. The triggers from e6k to the 2 aem coils for trailing, im not sure which wires to use.
My current setup has one wire from haltech going to pink and other to a white on stock trailing coils.
Do I take those to wires and run them to aem? Also do I leave it in distributor mode or change to direct fire?

Light green is the trigger for both leading coils. White/black is the T1. Blue is T2. Mode is direct fire. Falling edge output. 3.5ms charge time.

NOTE:Just a FYI,maybe not for E6 K ..BUT I know for a fact that on the PS1000 if you have the New coils hooked up and the computer(ECU) Not configured and attempt to do it while the key is on and the OLD Map is in..you will FRY a coil.
Try not to make that mistake..( that happened to me..poof..brand new coil UP in smoke.)
Configure the new setup then hook the coils up.

Same thing will happen with all the Haltechs. When switching from distributor mode to anything else, you need to make the software change before hooking up the coils and turning the ignition switch on.

Yes. Leaving the fuse out is a good idea.

I'd start with 3.0 with wastespark and see if it works for you. Move up from there only if you have break up issues. Depends on how you're going to use the car and how much duty cycle the coils will tolerate. In general, they're very robust. But you don't want to drive them any harder than you have to. 4.5 works great with direct-fire.

the aem coils have no current limiter in them, so the longer you charge them the better your spark (up to about 10ms or until they start to overheat). however waste spark only gives you about 4.3 ms duration between events at 7000rpm, so charge time somewhere between 3.5 and 4.0 ms is best to prevent misfires up top

Looks like spark plug wires too close to the trigger wires.

Won't work like this with a stock intake, but E&J has a nice billet bracket. They could be used in a universal application to mount the coils to the frame rail. Could also use two of them side by side if there isn't room to stack the coils.

Yes that's not an IGN-1A, it's the MSD 8232, which is an IGN-CD. Same footprint as the IGN-1A, so the mounts will work with either coil.

It's further away than you think. The holder is raised 4 inches above the frame and the wires for the trigger get tucked in the engine components.
If you notice the setup was not hooked up and the old Magnacor R100 wires were on the plugs.
They don't fit the coils,so new MSD wires were fabricated using a 4 Cyl "Build it yourself" kit.
The wires pretty well go directly to the plugs with very little "dangle"..

There is also another picture of the coils(not mine) on Forum, that places the coils where the old trailing coils used to be.That area.
I didn't want them so far away,so I opted to place them on the Frame rail.

But whatever floats your canoe.
