I have also made some in-roads. Hard to tell which of the following was the main culprit in my issues, but it may have also been a combination of the two:
1) The gap between the trigger wheel and the CAS sensor was TOO close (~.004"). I've subsequently learned that the MoTeC M4 was having trouble accepting the higher than expect voltage values at idle and low rpms. This gave only occasional faults, but I don't think any errors are directly assigned to trigger over-voltage.
After resetting the gap to the factory clearance, the car ran much better.
2) There is a problem with my wideband controller reading consistently. We found this on the dyno, when the in-car O2 readings diverge by about 0.1 Lambda from the dyno's sensor. However, when they read the same the car ran smoothly. I replaced the O2 sensor without any significant improvements. Ultimately, we ran out of time on the dyno while trying to fix the problem. I'm troubleshooting THIS problem now.
Long stoy made longer... I'm not longer troubleshooting the ignition system. Guess I should shouln't have doubted in Akum's Razor... it would have saved me a lot of pain and money!

So IAN you finally figured everything out? You should probably do a write up about the whole thing and how IT SHOULD be wired and configured for future generations to use

Once we found out that the stock coils are transister fired (Does this sound correct?) I had to reverse the polarity to the coils and then it fired. Then I found out that during all of my playing around with it previously to get it to work I had one of the trigger angles to fire in the wrong settings. Once I get home from the Florida Keys I will post the entire setup/wiring. Something so simple yet took me forever to get it going.

Well, in that case, i can report that a set of LS1 coils on a 13B running Methanol can go as high as 700hp with no problems what so ever too, if anybody needs better spark, Haltech now carries the LS2 coils, which pack a meaner punch than the LS1's, so by that reckoning, LSx coils are by far the cheapest possible alternative with the best results.
