2 or 4 secondary injectors?

Hey All,

I will start by saying I have tried to contact (call and email) Elite numerous times over the past few weeks with no success. I did get a response from them via Instagram, but it was rather sub par. I have also searched the site and couldn't find much on the subject, so if this has been discussed please let me know. I am posting in this forum since I am running an Elite 1500. Maybe it works, maybe not.

Here's the setup:
I just purchased an Elite Rotary Shop intake manifold, and the kit allows for 4 secondary fuel injectors. I also purchased the 4 injector rail and I have a EFR 8374 ready to install. I currently have 2 ID 1050x primary injectors, and 2 ID 2000 secondaries already in the car. The motor is a S5 turbo 2 and it's in a Datsun 510, so the power goals are 250-300hp at the wheels. I think thats all the power I can get traction for in the car.

With that in mind, what is the best setup to run for the secondaries?
Option 1: Use the current setup and plug the other 2 secondary injector bungs.
Option 2: Run 4 injectors

If option 2 is best, do I run 4 1050x, and then how best to hook them up to the ecu? I dont really want to buy a 2500 since the 1500 isn't even installed.

The car is still in the mockup/fab phase so I have plenty of flexibility depending on the best option.

Thanks!

I think for your goals, 4 is way overkill. You can make that power on stock injectors. I also think you could have a much more responsive setup if your goal is below 300whp. Personally, especially if this is a street car, I prefer the best response possible.

Thanks, I would prefer it to be as responsive as possible. I know they sell injector dummies, so that sounds like the right direction!

for only 300hp, you could run the stock 550's, and the 1050's. you probably want the better spray pattern of the new injectors though

I made that comment about being more responsive at 300whp and forgot to state how lol. I think you might want to consider a smaller turbo, like a 7670. You could easily hit 300whp with that turbo have better response. You could also probably run the IWG. On the 8374 you will have to run dual external gates to keep boost low enough not to exceed 300 whp by a lot. I think that turbo makes around 400+ whp at 15psi. You will probably need to run less than 10 psi to stay under 300 whp.

Yes, I chatted with Elliot over at Turblown about this before I bought the turbo, and the 8374 was his recommendation. I already had the manifold and wastegates. He mentioned that I should be in that powerband at ~2500 (if I remember correctly) and not need to go over 7psi. I know at some point, I will probably want more power, and figure out how to get more tire on the car, so I figure I should over build it and tune it back to the goals that I want currently.
