Red face $5.00 fixed my car!!!!

Go buy one today, its called a snap-on Ferrite Data-line filter from Radio Shack. My car never ran this good, its unbelievable. Perfect igniton, rpm steady as a rock, and easy install just clamp the damn thing on and away you go. My problem was timing and rpm moving around, but not anymore. It even snaps to attension when you tap the throttle. I clamped it right near the CAS, this is my payback for you all helping me.

Oh baby!!

Ted, i cant explain it but with several emails from matt at haltech he assured me it was interferance or noise. He was dead on, 93bfd i attached it right at the cas. It just opens up and snaps around the wires, no piercing or any of that bull. Im going to put another on the output for the coils. Ill get some pics up soon because its almost done.

What is the CAS? I'm wondering if there is an equivalent line or lines I could try this on with my EFI PMS.

Crank Angle Sensor, if you have a third gen then you would clamp these on the two sensors near the crank pulley.

What are the symptoms, because my car's rpms starts going wild after 4500 rpm like the needle just drops right off or starts bouncing between 5k and 8k and I thinks its affecting my tunning.

Andrew, thats it. Mosin, mine was bouncing all over i assume like yours is doing. Ive finally figured out what was causing it, taylor wires. I left the filters on anyway but installed some msd wires and its all good now. At times i saw 14k rpm and then back to normal. good luck

Yes. That's sounds correct. If your getting interference you'll see Irritate rpm values on your haltech. It's telling you something is wrong with the trigger signal or it's picking up noise somewhere. Your case the spark plug wires. you can take off your noise filter and i'll bet you have the same results.

Enzo250, i have removed my filters and i have no more breakup. It was the overpriced Taylor wires causing my problem. Now i have the overpriced MSD wires and everything is ok.
