I really dig the Rocket Bunny FD "Full Metal Jacket" nose (and front lip) that they are currently taking pre-orders for, but the rest of the kit is just not my style. I would like to get the nose only from their kit (Welcome to the official GReddy USA blog: Rocket Bunny RX-7 and GT-R kits now available for pre-orders...). I was gauging interest in 2 things:
1. Does anyone else want just the nose & lip only?
2. Are there any vendors, sponsors, etc. that would like to take the order
I would be happy to organize everything, but the good folks at Greddy/Rocket Bunny aren't going to sell a bunch of noses only without a nice-sized order.
So chime in!!

 

If there's interest we can try to pull some strings with Greddy, however I can't make any promises and we'd need numbers.

Currently the kit is not sold piece meal... it should go in that direction in a handful of months but because it is so new it's only being sold as a full kit. Under 4k for the full kit ain't too bad though, it seems pretty reasonable considering all of the pieces.

 

I agree that it's a good price, except that this whole drift style kit just doesn't appeal to me. I think it looks like "we were too lazy/cheap to get a body shop to graft this kit on, so we're gonna rivet it on and paint over all of it" style that seems very popular these days. That's cool when you're drifting so much you're constantly ripping your body pieces off anyway, but I'm no drifter. As a matter of fact, I'm now wondering if the nose comes with the riveted parts already on/molded. That would be a deal breaker, as I would have to pay a shop to remove that part off the nose, and that's just more trouble than it's worth. I like the lines of the nose, and the seemingly useful vent scoop area. The fog light/vent holes are awesome, too. Heath: Just for fun, can you find out if the nose comes with those riveted pieces already on/molded? If we could find enough people that wanted all the various parts, maybe we could split the kit up among those buyers.

 

Just an FYI for anyone who hasn't seen it yet, MotoIQ just posted their build on their site a few days ago. The bumper does have the fender add-on riveted sections already built into it.

 

Just looked at that. It was painful to see those pictures of that FD getting chopped-up to accommodate the kit! Even those guys said they liked just the nose more than the whole kit, and would have considered exactly what I want to do. I guess maybe a good body shop shouldn't have any issues removing those riveted sections, and filling in with fiberglass. I just wonder how much something like that would cost.

 

I totaly agree with you quichedem. I love the look of the nose but the rest is to much for me.

 

Well, my FD goes to the shop in about 2 weeks' time, so I'll just wait until they start piece-mealing this kit to buy the nose later on. Heath, thanks for posting to accommodate. I'll order from you when I can get just the nose.

 

Is it still full-kit only on these?
