NC RE Sleek Light Covers

Hello Everyone,

I'm attempting to facilitate a group buy of high quality acrylic sleek covers to replace old and worn out RE covers. Ridout Plastics is doing the production based on my own pair of RE covers (lenses). The covers will be the same size, shape, and curvature of the RE covers but will not be painted. After the production run, I'm going to have a motorcycle decal shop in my area cut vinyl masks to enable the purchaser to paint his or her covers.

This is my first time participating in a group buy - thanks for those who directed me to this area of the forum. Since I'm not a company and I'm not advertising, I'm still not clear on whether or not I need to pay the forum a vendor fee. I'm pricing the lenses as if I will need to pay the $75.00 charge. If I'm not required to do such, then I will refund each buyer $7.50 via paypal at the end of the buy. Pricing is $157.50 per set of lenses and $167.50 per set of lenses with vinyl masks (this includes shipping in the continental US). Email me if you're elsewhere and I will work up a quote for you.

I will order in bulk from Ridout after I have 8 deposits to my Paypal account (Dabossajk@gmail.com). I'm not going to promise a specific timeline but I will promise to consistently update this post and to keep everyone informed of what is happening. I would guesstimate 2-3 weeks for the Ridout production after the order is placed and then another week or two for me to have the vinyl masks cut. At bottom is my original thread.

Thanks,

Aaron

Here's a list of folks who have expressed interest so far - pass the word if you know anyone else who may be interested. If we get 20+ pairs I may get a petter price from Ridout and I'll pass that along to you all.

I would suggest PM all people interested that you have a GB started. Also Photos of the intended product will help create more interest from other people. Without photos of the product this GB won't go very far.

I am also interested, and will try to send this weekend. I would suggest putting a timeframe on this, rather than placing the order as soon as you have 8 people.

Also, try searching for people that have been wanting to buy replacement covers. There have been quite a few wanted ads on the forums.

Hey, can you post a pic of the proposed vinyl design just so we're all on the same page?

Update - I just PM'd the 4 folks (Beanietec, Mdessouki, Moosejaw, and Allrotor93) who have expressed interest but haven't made a deposit yet. If they all chip in, then the order is a go. I can draw the vinyl mask in CAD, but it's just going to be the shape of the transparent portion of the lense to enable you to paint the area that covers the top of the lights and the area that covers the flat upper ring of the bucket.

Getting close! 6 paid deposits so far (below) - only two more and the order goes in. If you're on the fence, jump in.

I've never seen the evo-r kit up close so I can't say. Hopefully someone else will chime in as I'm wondering too.

Hi Gang,

I've decided to go ahead and place the minimum 10 set order today with Ridout Plastic. Figured that Ive got a good chance of selling two more pairs (will be keeping two for myself) between now and when my credit card bill comes due Manufacturer says that I should have them in about 3 weeks - cross your fingers that they are on time and high quality! There are still two sets up for grabs. Send a deposit if you want one of them.

Thanks,

Aaron
