For what it's worth, I already have the 2nd generation Atomic/Minotaur rack, and one of my concerns that I've addressed with some custom work is the non-factory mounting mechanism.

The original rack used the factory stuff—and that's my concern on the Grannas (no offense to anyone), is that mounting system on the driver's side, and using an intercooler clamp as a spacer. I've no reason to believe it doesn't work, but it's a little wonky to me.

I'm on the move right now but I'm in for the full rack as well.

 

OK some good news and bad news, Quaife refunded me the difference and I should be able to send the money to you all sometime later this week. I'm still going through the payments and transactions, but bad news is because of the constant currency exchanges and tanking Canadian dollar the refund I received was approximately 320cdn(219.55usd)less than I originally sent them. And I also just thought of another thing while typing this, the cdn funds I received from quaife are also worth less now compared to USD(13 year low), so even If I split it fairly amongst 33 of us you will all receive a lower amount. It really sucks I wish it was the other way around, we could have made money! but I guess that is why im not a currency trader and I own a FD! I hope that is fair to all and I will provide any transactions or deposits information to who wants to see them. Unfortunately we couldn't make the January 7 cut off, so a refund was requested.

 

This has been the worst group buy I have ever been a part of. Thanks a lot! lmao

 

0piston and I did everything we possibly could. I took out my own personal stock rack out of my car and willingly shipped it the UK so Quaife could make a prototype. I also sent out a RHD rack I had lying around so the RHD guys could get in on this as well. I also sent both of my inner tie rods so they could make the appropriate threads. My car is sitting undrivable for months now so we could make this happen!

It is not our fault that Quaife cannot manufacture a rack kit for the stock rack housings. If Quaife cannot do it than I don't know who can. It is not our fault that Quaife can only accept a single payment through a wire transfer and 0piston had to go through all kinds of crazy **** just to get the money to them.

We did everything we possible could. We tried and because of things that were out of our power we were not able to complete this GB.

So please take into consideration all the effort that both 0piston and I put into this and try to avoid posting toxic comments like you just did, it doesn't help the community and it discourages others from undertaking possible future group buy endeavors.

With time we should be able to get the 25. New people looking at this thread have no idea a full rack is an option without reading through the whole thread.

 

Bummer. I knew there was a certain amount of risk with this group buy. Nature of the beast I guess. Too bad it didn't all work out.

So what's going on with this? I would love a complete bolt in solution and Quaife is an extremely reputable company that I would trust. Are you going to start a new group buy or is this completely dead? I would be in for the full rack.

 

Looks like we missed the deadline for the full racks to be made. I feel this is a waste since they have the racks in hand.

If we start a new thread I'm sure we could get 25+ to commit.
