Ok. So this is turning out to be the worst kept secret in a while.

I've been holding off posting until I actually HAVE these in hand and ready to ship - but I've been getting constant PMs and DMs and comments regarding them - so I might as well make a post.

YES. We have Spirit-R Keys in production. We are about 30 days out at this point. We are making Red and Black variants.







These Spirit-R Keys are being manufactured with injected molded heads and BRASS bodies to exact Mazda standards. Samples have already been received and sent out to a few 3rd parties for cutting, testing, etc. I'm glad to say you can walk into any Home Depot or Lowes or your favorite lock smith and have these cut from your existing key (or VIN at a dealer).



But the REALLY cool news is - we are also making a TITANIUM variant.

I've always been jealous of the Z32 300ZX and NA1 NSX keys. If you're not familiar, the 300ZX got a titanium key and the NSX was an alloy called Monel. Both are SUPER cool if you get a chance to hold one. Even cooler if you get to pop it in the ignition. Honestly, just the feeling of these in your hands sends a slight tinge of electricity through your fingers.


Whelp, bottom line is: I always thought the FD3S got the shaft with the original toilet bowl key. The Spirit-R, while awesome - is a far cry from the 300ZX or NSX keys. So, it's high time a car like the FD3S got the respect it deserved and a key to match it's commitment to lightweight, cutting edge performance.




For this design, I basically took a 3D scan of the Spirit-R key and flattened it out to a point where it gave the same electricity in your fingers that the 300ZX and NSX did. I added a concave area in the middle, so when you hold it between your forefinger and thumb it just...fits. The sandblasted finish adds a really nice quality unmatched by any other keys I've held. As for cutting a titanium key, I *have* had a tester with one get it cut a Lowe's without issues - BUT I don't recommend it. I would take it to a local locksmith that could make quick work of it. The body is *identical* to a 93-95 OEM key, so matching that should be no issue at all.


Since I know you're gonna ask...

PRICING WILL BE AS FOLLOWS:
Spirit-R Key (red or black) - $40/key. Buy 3 or more for $30/key.
TITANIUM Key - $135/key. Buy the Titanium Key along with a Spirit-R Key and get BOTH for $165. Additional Spirit-R Keys are offered for $30 with the purchase of a Titanium Key.


From here, we need support. Tell your friends. Spread the work on social media. Tell your RX-7 friends that don't frequent the forums. We really need to get the word out on these and try to get as many people interested as possible. If we are able to get enough interest, I'm also thinking we can throw in a couple goodies for guys that are ordering 3+ Spirit-R Keys and/or Titanium variants.

Would a dealer be able to cut a titanium one from VIN? I wouldn't want to dupe from my worn out old key. Would also be cool if you could cut with an efini symbol, I don't roll with the flying m anywhere else.
