The problem is another company came in and offered "the same" for a few dollars less. The parts did not fit well, they bailed on the FD community in a few months time, and we lost the volume of members needed to make the molds. So at the end of the day, we're still here but we can't provide the parts the FD community wants because members were lured away for a slightly cheaper priced part.
Without volume sales we can't make the parts people want... and we have to be able to sell enough to stay afloat as a company. These fly by night companies don't have to deal with the ramifications of long term customer care, or any overhead whatsoever, and most of our profits are dumped back into R/D for new parts. It's just an unfortunate situation which is why we're trying to expand to other chassis. A dollar isn't just a dollar for us, it's a vote for SBG to continue making parts for the FD community.

When i accuse someone of bad work, (The part did not fit well!!) i follow by a link of prof to back my accusations up.. I don't remember shipping you a map lid, with you making a full thread on how it looks fits etc.. making your assumptions on what??
Make sure you cry to mods to delete this..
Some things never change..

I think some of you guys may be overreacting a bit to comments made by SBG. I read the thread from front to back and I was surprised when the complaints about SBG comments began, only because I was not effected at all by anything SBG posted. To me it comes across as honest venting to fellow enthusiasts about the difficulties of producing high quality parts, with low quality competition with a market that has less and less people willing to pay. If SBG bought competitor parts and reviewed them and posted write-ups about why they are inferior I think the negative reaction would probably be worse. Seems like a bit of a snowball effect when the complaints start on an internet forum. If you're mad at SBG, contact them personally like you would a friend or family member.

Thanks for the effort, I pick up my Fd in a month and will see what it needs...You guys need to work with 3d printing in the future...that will drastically reduce price points and speed up the process.

The member "to_slow" is the competing shop who killed this group buy. It's nice that he's here telling us to go 'cry to the mods' to have his post deleted. That's not how we roll, we've never had a negative post deleted and never will. His lack of grammar and professionalism just shows the kind of stand up shop these guys run . They've been hard at work trying to copy our products and sell "the same for less" with a number of products we currently make. The only thing staving them off is their own lack of attention to detail. For instance, they we're hot on our buns to sell a knockoff of the oil cooler kit we've developed, but using ebay coolers that they POWDERCOATED Insulating a heat exchanger with a thick layer of plastic is exactly the sort of flops we've come to expect from these guys. They've offered to copy our cast door handle (for slightly cheaper as always) and had no takers on that one. When another shop offers exactly what we make for less, not only is it a red flag (that lowered cost has to come from somewhere) but it's a direct insult to us as a shop, just as a shop such as RE-Amemiya wouldn't be too happy with a poorly constructed cheap Chinese knockoff of a body kit they developed.
I'm happy for competition, but not when it undermines innovation. We're not here to make a fortune, we can't.... these parts sell in the 10's! The FD parts development community is small... very very small.... and I was astounded to have another vendor on here offering/promising to sell what we make "for cheaper". It's not apples and apples guys, it's apple flavor for a few less bucks.
Notice who's still here serving you guys, developing new parts, and supporting every customer we've sold something to . Cheaper isn't better in this arena, and the demise of OUR groupbuy and failures on the part of the other manufacturer should stand as a warning. There's a reason people trust SBG, it's because we don't sacrifice quality for cost, and we do this because we love our cars... not to make a quick buck.

PS Thanks to everyone in the FD community supporting us all of these years! Every purchase from SBG goes BACK into R/D for next project we're working on .

Thanks, I appreciate your comments. We treat our customers like friends or family, always have... we're a small two person operation doing this on the side of the rest of life. We're not businessmen, we're FD enthusiasts with strong personal ties to our community. I personally hate to see the FD market flooded with cheap parts, it lowers the value of our cars as a community, and stomps out innovation. It especially irks me when I see knockoffs of items that are of extraordinarily poor quality, especially when it directly affects our abilities as a company to release the part we already started... and all this for the promise of a few dollar savings.
