Gauging interest: Carbon fiber floor panels (gutted carpet)

My car had a bad carpet in it so I tossed it. I've contemplated getting a new one but came across this car and though I definitely need to have this. I will be designing and making a set for myself but I thought maybe there might be interest in this.. Since i have not even begin to prototype or think this out, I have no idea what it will cost. Random number im just pulling out of a hat will be $300-500 and all depends on material lay up (I think this one will be fiberglass with CF overlay) and process, ex wet lay up, vacuum bagged or resin infusion...

Caution: These pictures contain a lot of awesome.
This is the style look we are aiming for.

Any interest? I'll be making myself a set either way, but I will design it and manufacture it differently if people are interested and need to make multiples.. Also what Price range you will feel comfortable paying/material (if people dont want to pay the extra $$ to have the part vacuum bagged we can do a wet lay up which will cut cost)

opinions/thoughts?

my fd is currently gutted and being caged so I'm interested in this product. Will you be making these with a raised heel plate for the driver or do we need to run spacers between the car and the panel? (to mimic feet positioning to the pedals as if stock carpet was still in)

We actually didnt even think the height difference when we lose the carpet... We'll definitely keep that in mind. as of right now there are no plans to raise the floor. but we'll do some testing to see how it will feel.

We plan to have these sit at the same height as the floor bracing (with the dimple die cut out)

Yes please (assuming left hand drive car here)!! Any chance of getting that dash in the above pics for a left hand drive -- would be seriously interested in that too!

Charles, they will be designed for LHD cars. As far as that dash, no, the pics above are actually from a suburu... if you are interested in a custom dash like that we can make it happen, just shoot us a pm!

Just finished a prototype to see how it would look. Super happy with the results!
Now we just need to refine the trim lines, make slots for the seat rails and polish up the mold a bit!
Pics of the Driver side (LHD) Ill be making the Pass side prototype in the next few days

Looks great! But also looks a little too low, any chance of testing it with a spacer? to get it about an inch higher?

^^^

Why would you want it higher?

Does look like it would need trimming for the forward seat mount bolts though, yes?

Because it looks low to me, looks about an inch lower than when the factory carpet was there... *shrug* I guess I can always get a heel up plate or something and make it work

it is slightly lower, about the thickness of the carpet ply

yes, it was just rough trimmed to test fit to make sure it fits after it came off the mold, now that we know its fits, we can puts some more elbow grease into polishing up the mold. (as is in the picture a seat can not even be bolted in, it needs the slots trimmed)

Definitely interested, previous owner put some crappy Home Depot carpet in my FD so I'd be glad to be able to strip it out.

Hey, Sorry for the lack of updates. we've been looking to relocate and were in the process of obtaining a werehouse with a lot more room to dedicate for Bubble Tech HQ's!

we have passenger side floor pan on the mold as we speak. I just need to finalize the trim lines and they will be good to go!
