Now you are talking! The Ganador Vertex was one of the best looking exhausts ever IMO.

I would consider getting in on this, but the sound level would need to be about no greater than the Racing Beat dual, which is compliant with California’s super stringent sound level limit (I measured about 88-89 dB(a) following the SAE J1169 test.) So I’d need to know sound levels beforehand, otherwise risk a giant fine later on. What muffler options are there? Anything with a larger canister?

Before we collect any money or move into full on production - we will have samples. Those samples will be installed on as many different configurations as possible (stock DP/MP, straight through, single turbo, etc). We will also try to get as many sound clips (interior, exterior, etc) as possible to make sure everyone knows what they are in for.

No big updates to share. We're currently working on the project and should have some info in the next couple weeks.

Shouldn't be a problem on a 3.5in tip. Single, I assume? Yes, burnt color on the tip is a must.

Work in progress.

We got the tips done (mandrel bent titanium) and the muffler done as well. Just working on the piping.

Hey gang!

Just wanted to drop by since we've finally been able to exhale from the sprint that was SevenStock > Black Friday > Holidays and try to refocus a bit.

We just finished the first prototype exhaust and will get it installed here in the next few weeks. But before that, I wanted to share a quick sneak peek with you all...

I think it turned out beautiful and tips the scale around 15lbs.

There are TWO ideas we have kicking around that we wanted to get feedback on...

1) Would anyone be interested in having this with a REPACKABLE muffler? I honestly don't even know if it's doable at this point, but we had a couple inquires about it.
2) Would anyone be interested in having this be a TWO PIECE design a la Racing Beat? Again, not sure if it'll make sense, but a couple people asked.

Cheers guys and HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Do you have pictures of the muffler internals by chance? Keeping it reasonably quiet is my priority and the less maintenance / repacking the better.

Bruh.

1. Repackable would be nice, if possible
2. Not sure the advantage of two piece. To me, it's the ability to ship out the front pipe for some heat coating, but my understanding is Ti should not be wrapped or heat coated, since it will degrade the metal over time

The 2-piece design like RB makes it MUCH easier and cheaper to ship. Typically going from ~$90 to ship to ~$50.

Looks gorgeous! Any chance of getting a Garage Alpha logo on it somewhere - either laser engraved on the tip or a plate on the muffler like the JDM systems?

+1, It's like a heat shield, also protects the rear bumper.

Yes. I can get you a "cut away" shot before we weld up the next one... but here is basically how it's packed:

The inner material is a 700C resistance, and the white outer material is 1000C resistance. This is obviously packed very loose. Ours is much denser to keep the sound down.

The pictured exhaust should be installed in the next couple weeks and we'll get dB measurements / videos so you can make a good decision. Going to try and get it on a few different cars... stock vehicle, full exhaust, etc.

1) Yeah, I agree. But the more we talk about it, the more it might become a cost issue. I think the reality is, *most* of these exhausts will go on cars that are garage queens / weekend warriors. I've seen some OG RE-A exhausts that were blown out and in need of repacking, which kinda started the conversation. But, the reality is, that's probably a 20+ year old exhaust that got passed around because there were no other options. If any of these exhausts actually see 50K of road time, I'd be staggered. In fact, if you can log 50K on one of these - I'll buy it back and give you a brand new one!

Bottom line on this one, I think repackable design will be cost prohibitive (but doable on special order).

2) I guess it was one aspect of the Racing Beat I always liked. Also, as Dale says below, it makes for a smaller box and shipping a tad cheaper. BUT, another connection is another two flanges, another gasket, more welding AND another potential for leaks. If people aren't clamoring for it I could go either way... AND the cost savings on shipping is probably a wash by the additional raw goods needed.

Exactly. But if I'm being perfectly honest, it might be a tad short sighted on my part to put logistics over long term durability. Not that the quality would be sacrificed, but the aforementioned downside (leaks) is now on the table.

As for logo - totally doable. Personally, I've always kinda left our name off stuff. I guess me personally, never liked having brand names on my car. BUT, we can do it! Oval badge on the tip, laser etch, whatever!

I'm flattered you'd ask.

Sure, on the Group Buy I can accommodate it - but down the road, it'll only be Dolphin Tip. Slash cut? Or straight-straight?

Totally. Quiet is the goal. I'm getting old.

The "big" one will be 90mm, which translates to 3.54in. That'll be inner tip to flange.

The tip in the tip design is for a couple reasons. Aesthetics on the smaller piping (inner tip is 76mm, outer is 100mm). Also, keep discoloration to a minimum. The inner stays hotter while the outer doesn't get *as* hot. Again, aesthetics. On the 90mm piping, I believe the tip will be 110mm.

That's a bingo.

90mm. 3.54in. Tip to flange, all the way.

I didn't think about protecting the bumper - but yeah - it'll do that as well.

This is one of the main reasons i like your products! I would not mind logos that are placed in areas not visible, just to "brand" them. Say a weld-on badge with GA logo and serial number that goes on top of the muffler.
In most cases, the type of branding like racing beat have on their muffler is a turnoff for me personally. But everyone is different here.
