Curious on the actual measurements. On your website your list of available sizing is:
3.0in = 76.2mm
3.5in = 88.9mm
2.0in = 50.8mm
Are the pipes actual inch measurements, and your metric conversions are just round-offs, or are the pipes metric and the inch values are rounded off conversions?
More importantly, are the dual tips 50mm or 60mm? 50mm would be a significant restiction; together they would have the same cross-sectional area of a single 70mm pipe, or about 78% the area of an 80mm single, or 62% the area of a 90mm single.
Dual 60mm would be about right for an 80mm input pipe. Obviously this applies to the dual-pipes going through the muffler also, not just the outlet tips.
I was interested in a 80mm/dual-tip setup, but if the tips are only 50mm I will have to think about it; might end up switching to the single tip version.
- 3.0in (80mm) piping
- Optional 3.5in (90mm) piping
- Single 4.0in (100mm) 'Dolphin Tail' or 'Slash Cut' tip
- Optional dual 2.0in (60mm) 'Dolphin Tail' or 'Slash Cut' tips
3.0in = 76.2mm
3.5in = 88.9mm
2.0in = 50.8mm

- 3.0" = 76mm
- 3.5" = 89mm
- single tip 4.0" = 102mm
- dual-tip 2.0" = 51mm
Also noticed that the earlier prototype dual-tip picture looked to have much larger tips than the new picture; does the dual-tip dolphin come with double-wall tips? Or is it just that prototype, and the final production versions are all single-wall?

OK, found this post from earlier indicating that you are using inch size piping, so the metric numbers are probably all rounded-off conversions. So the actual measurements are:
- 3.0" = 76mm
- 3.5" = 89mm
- single tip 4.0" = 102mm
- dual-tip 2.0" = 51mm

Additionally, the metric vs imperial measurements are a bit tricky. We use "3 inch" and "3.5 inch" and "4.0 inch" as that's what people are kinda used to hearing ("I upgraded my downpipe to 3.5 inch!") but WE are actually basing this exhaust on metric.
On the dual "3 inch" the piping is 76mm and the dual tips are 60mm, regardless of the "look" (dolphin or slash cut). That is 60mm piping when it splits in the muffler chamber AND out the tips.
On the single "3 inch" the piping is 76mm and the inner tip is 76mm, the outer tip is 102mm on the dolphin.
Hope that helps!

Now I just need to decide what tip I want; I've never really been a fan of dolphin tips, but the pictures you've posted so far make it look good!
One more observation: I'm a bit surprised that you don't charge more for the dual-tip since it looks like significantly more work to build. (but I'm not complaining, since I'm planning to get the dual-tip )

Thanks, that makes me feel better. I've bought many Garage Alpha parts and always been impressed with the design and workmanship; using undersized tips seemed like a surprising oversight for you guys!
Totally understand using 3", 3.5", etc. shorthand since that's how most people reference their exhaust size (at least here in the USA). I see you've updated the website with more accurate sizes.

However, we really wanted to stick to my stated goal of $1500 at the beginning of the project - so we maintained the price even though it's a bit higher expense for us. I imagine, in the future, the Single Dolphin Tips will see a slight ($50-$100) price bump.
I've had a bunch of different exhausts on different FDs. The Racing Beat I loved, the GReddy SP was cool, the APEXi GT Spec was... excessive. I took a little while to warm up to the Dolphin Tip - but once I did - it's all I wanted. It's such a perfect compliment to the car.

Ok guys! The titanium exhausts HAVE LANDED!
Well, all except the Dual Dolphin. Those are due in another week or so.
That said, we have 3.0in Single Dolphins on the shelf ready for immediate shipping along with one of the Slash Cut Single Tips. Anything else, 3.0in can be made to order.
As for 3.5in - those are being welded up NOW. If you want one, now is the time to get the order in.

Not only that, it sounds FANTASTIC!
IDLE
THROWING SOME REVS
CRUISING
SOUND
At idle, it's a smooth 75.4db at WOT, we're cracking 97.7db. But no drone or snap, crackle 'n pop.
These were both taken with a GReddy DP and OEM cat with a set of twins. Single turbo and full exhaust sound clips are on the way!
You're gonna have to use your imagination on the other tips.

Looks great @garage alpha , any of the other muffler designs on vehicle yet?
You’re gonna have to use your imagination, be a guinea pig or... wait.
The straight single basically continues straight where the Dolphin turns down.
The dual has already shipped to the customer so hopefully he’ll post installed pics soon.

Installed today! I went with the 3" dolphin tip in matte finish (compliments the Garage Alpha matte finish titanium tow hook well). The look and finish are great, but unfortunately mine had a small nick on the tip. Didn't stop me from installing though!
I previously had the HKS Hi-Power exhaust. This exhaust is about the same when it comes to volume at idle. It does seem to have a little more rumble to it at idle though. Once you give it gas, it is noticeably more quiet than the HKS and sounds smoother. You still get great sound, just a more mature level. And lastly, no rasp to it!
Thanks Garage Alpha for another great product!

Wow! Love the look and love the compliment with the tow hook.
I feel sick about that nic though.
You probably could grind it down or even gently dremel or sand it. I know we wrap the tips pretty well with foam and the packing material should be up to par... but I guess stuff happens.
PM me before your next order and I’ll be sure to figure out something for you.

A good way to do it at home might be to get some big flat surface (wood, metal, glass) and put some sandpaper on it and go to town in a circle motion. Or, even a big enough orbital, or maybe even a wide belt sander, would do it. You just wanna grind the whole surface at the same rate, so it doesn't get lopsided. You could even do it on the car.

Drove around a bit more and the tone is much more quite. Had a friend with me who also noted how much more quite it was compared to the HKS and no drone. Just the right amount of volume to really enjoy all the turbo rotary noises we love!
