"IF" I ever come out with it depends on the cost of the investment casting and coatings, "IF" the cost is too much where the final price of the handle is too much for any sales then I will not produce them using investment casting.

"When" I produce them is more likely because even if the investment casting is too much for production then I will go back to sand casting and have a lesser quality product for cheaper.

I will try to give an update soon. I have been working through this engineering problem and it is narrowing down to a few options to make it work.

Wow!! Lol I guess I'll put my name on the list for two Black ones DOP..

 

The quick and short update is that I have posted the dimple replication and alignment up for quoting from other engineers around the world to see how big of a deal it really is (quote prices will tell the truth) If It is a cheap thing then I will back charge the current engineer the same amount I will pay the engineer that can do the work properly if he succeeds. If the quote prices are too expensive then I will know that the task is definitely harder than we all think to digitally replicate and align and it will be unpractical and then we can all feel confident that we gave it our all at perfection but practicality and budget won over and either way we will move forward to quoting for production runs.
Quoting has been open for 2 weeks and 2 days and will end tomorrow the 30th and only 10 people signed the non disclosure agreement and only 1 quote has come in so far.

 

so what's the word? are these going to be produced? if so, interested...(for a black one)

Actually, we're coming from the same place, demand is evident. With demand being high and at limited supply, people will pay a premium. I'm not an econ major, but that's common sense.

Unfortunately, this stands as a point in case of saying what you'll do, but not doing what you say.

I'm sure we can all agree that results are what matters.
