Not much of an update, The mold has been waxed and waiting on shipment of supplies to arrive. I have some vinyl ester resin coming in this week. I switched to the VE resin for this particular part since VE can withstand more heat, just to be safe =)

The templates have been made, the last thing I need to figure out is where to make the cut outs.

I'm not familiar with the Sakebomb coil kit so I cannot comment on that.

The R1 strut will not be an issue. The main reason for the long delay was because we were re-working the strut mounting area to accommodate more strut bars (mainly greddy style) The R1 strut was never an issue

Would be great if it could be removed without unbolting the strut bar.

hahahhahaahha This is awesome

I keep getting backed up with orders and I'm in the process of moving so I've been side tracked constantly having to go visit the new place for inspections and what not. (fingers cross this goes through, this is the 4th place we've been in contract with )

I'm not sure when I'll get around to finishing this but I will DEFINTELY have one for SS if any of you are going. If we dont have one by then... we'll we wont show face ever again hahahah

Slight update. I did a test run yesterday and completely botched it hahaha. I didnt pleat the bag and had insane amounts of bridging (for those who know composites). If you follow us on Instagram- BubbleTechllc or on facebook- Bubble tech we posted a photo, and make much more frequent updates on there if you'd like to follow us =) I'll be doing another test this week. Still planning on debuting it at Sevenstock

Did I see a final version on your Sevenstock packing video? You have anything you'd like to share with us?

It was a prototype in FG. It came out much more promising then the previous versions. I had a slightttt issue with bridging but I know how to resolve that in the next trial. The hardest part of making this is because theres so many contours and angles in every direction. Each piece of fabric has to be precut by template and uses multiple layers to have a nice uniform directional weave. Also because it is bagged, unlike the typical hand layups you see on bumpers and body components, it will bridge and screw up the whole part if not precut to designated templates. I'm still working on the lay up schedule as some parts were too thin. I was going to bring it to sevenstock for display purposes but it would have cost $150 to ship it there in time so I decided not to. I will post a picture when I get back home after thanksgiving.

hahaha the leaked pictures? -_-

The fit is perfect. Still have to locate the cut holes perfect, figure out lamination schedule (this one is paper thin at the strut tower points) still some bridging in the bag, and still need to figure out finishing options. It will mostlikely be only available in Carbon Fiber and will be priced around $750 ball park. The final numbers will be determined by cost of clear coating.

Any chance it will be v8(ls3) compatible?
(looks like it would be, just curious)

and what exactly do you mean by locate the cut holes? lol
looks great overall though! really simplifies and cleans up the engine bay

I'm not sure, it will depend on how far the engine sits from the firewall, ill get dimensions next time im at the shop

I'm referring to the holes for the strut tower nuts (clamps in between) I eyeballed the cut outs for this one to get reference points. Once the holes are aligned perfect, I scribe the cut out onto the mold thus every part made, the marking is transferred thus perfect fitment

diffeent angle

loving it! cleans up the engine bay really well. 1 question. will the material u use hold up to the heat? do you think maybe adding some vent/fins above the MC and ABS unit will help direct some air out?
