The "click, click, start" issue is a very common problem with the RX7, as the electrical components age the problem gets worse. Our easy to install Starter Relay Kit mounts next to the starter to insure that the solenoid gets full voltage when you turn the key. We have developed this kit utilizing a completely waterproof 40amp relay with a built in resistor for voltage spikes, all terminals have heat shrink insulation for durability and protection.
I came up with this Heavy Duty Relay after seeing others for sale that consisted of a standard plastic tab mount $6 relay that was not waterproof and had non-heat shrinkable crimp connectors trying to sell for $30-$50. I have been working on this for several months off and on, to come up with a superior product that can handle the draw of our High Torque starters and provide protection from the elements under a car. I decided our product needed to have a metal mounting bracket and that all connections would be sealed, even the crimp terminals can't be pulled off. It is pretty easy to pull the wire out of a standard parts store terminal, ours are all Molex heat sealable crimp terminals.
Pleased to announce that starting 2/13/2018 we will be shipping our Version 2 that features a 50 amp weatherproof relay. It is compatible with a Version 1 harness.
