I didnt catch it on r0gu3 because I did not have my vm kit set-up to check the new intercooler and bat clearence, but I would have caught it once I started checking clearences for final shipment... good to catch it now.

By the way the core is wider but the endtanks are a tad smaller so the overall width is about the same.

It just sits at a very slight angle because it needs to clear the rad in the back.

I'm not experienced enough with tuning to guess how the dimension differences will affect things, but I'm betting that the little bit taken off the thickness of the core could make fitment of ducting and hoods just a little easier.

+1 for free shipping

Well yes and no, the core is longer so it sits as high as the thicker core because you have to raise it to clear the rad. Ducting is the same.

Answered in post #58

OK new new new new new update.

Because I took so long to make this kit the core I ordered via email came back with a wonderful response.

Its been discontinued.

The Garrett core 18x10.5x3.5 rated at 575hp under normal operating conditions has been DISCONTINUED !!!!! wtf !!!!!

The closet core size is 18x10.3x3 rated at 510hp under normal operating conditions .

Let me ask a questions, if I were to sell this kit with this less rated core, would you guys be:

A. Pissed
B. Thinking, now wtf?
C. I want a discount.
D. All of the above.

I'll answer it for you. The answer is D, all of the above.

Sooo this is what I did.

I am adapting my FD track core to work for this kit.

It is 20x11x3 and rated at 600hp under normal operating conditions.

**** yeah, your thinking 25 more hp, well let me explain why this is really a plus, and why I did not go with this core in the first place.

This is a plus because it has more surface area and it is a tad thinner by 1/2. This means that air can travel through the core easier and more air can cool the core, so its a benifit in 3 ways.

When I first designed this kit I did not have the monster vmount set-up yet, It was during the monster vmount that caused me to move the radiator back a little to make room for the monster core. It was that adjustment that now allows me to use this larger track core.

Sooooooo.....

What I ask is while this kit now benifits from a better core, please understand that I am going to need to make modifcations the the end tanks and the pipe on them.

Its really easy but its just something that will take a little time.

But it was a blessing in disguise.

Ben

so, I have all the parts. I just need to get sqaured away with the welder and schedule time for stuff to be made.

Making 9 kits has been waaaaayyyy more time consuming then I thought.

So much fun though.

So as soon as I finish shipping all the FC vmounts, I think I'll get started on an FC for me.

Picture this one with a vmount.

Ducting stays the same as the build thread with the two side pieces isolating airflow between the cores.

The oil cooler stays the same as the build thread, except Im making a small lip to deflect air up to the oil cooler.

He has them and is getting to them as he can. 18 endtanks is alot to weld and not to mention modifying all the RADs and welding all the piping and then pressing it for clearence, he does it for me on staurdays and he has to take care of his business too. So I am waiting too just like everyone else which is why I also felt it was right to give everyone a discount by giving free shipping. If you had the containers, packing supplies like bubble wrap and tape... its like 80 a kit. Since 2 kits are being installed by me I don't lose 160, but I dont gain anything either. But I amgiving a discount to the kit going to Australia, plus the other kits Im losing like 560 bucks.

But believe me, I hella want this done as much as you guys. I'm just trying to minimize my out of pocket expenses since I under bid myself on the entire project.

But the price is set, so I'm doing the best to make you guys happy with what I can.

Free upgrade to a larger IC and free shipping, I'd say not bad huh....lol

slowly but surely.

one fabricator is taking care of my fd vmount but the one i use for the fc vmounts only works on saturdays so we are juggling my work with his work.

im upset myself on how this is dragging on. I did nto like giving free shipping as I lose 700 or so off of that.

Im doing my best to get these out.

All parts are in and Im renting a storage jut to hold everything....not happy about that either, I dont have a garage to store stuff in...sucks.
