Turblown

I just wanted to say that Elliot over at Turblown is awesome. I chatted with him for some advice about wanting to attempt to build my own manifold. After talking for a bit, we agreed that he would build it for me. I needed one that would sit directly out from the exhaust ports as the stock turbo does and I planned to run twin 44mm Tials.

Initially, he told me that it would take a while since they were busy but I was ok with that. A few weeks later he messaged me to let me know that he would be starting and it would be ready in a week or so. Good deal. In less than I week he let me know that it was ready to be shipped out. There was a mistake made (38mm flanges were used instead of the 44mms), but he caught it before shipping and said it would be corrected and shipped the next day.

That night he let me know that 44mm flanges were backordered for at least 2 weeks. Crap... I told him I understood and to proceed. Elliot then managed the impossible. In just a couple of days he managed to source the correct flanges, get everything welded up, and shipped. I was amazed and ecstatic.

A few days later I had my package. When I opened it up, I was blown away by the manifold. The welds were gorgeous and, while my request allowed for a simple design, it was just what I wanted.

In short, I have nothing but good to say about Elliot and Turblown. I am at work right now but will try to get pics of it up tonight.

Way after the fact, here are some pics of the manifold Elliot made for me, both out of the car and installed.

I have had great time working with Elliot on my top mount project. No issues with parts or services he provided.
Some update pics on Elliot's work he did for my project.

Turblown Engineering and more specifically Elliot, is a master of his trade. The high level of workmanship produced by Turblown speaks for itself, see photos below of the work Elliot did for my project.

These are just a few of the parts Elliot fabricated for me, there's much more. His quality of work is just the beginning, Elliot is a great guy to do business with as well, no ego, no BS, just a straight up guy. If you're looking for a great fabricator, look no further, I can vouch for Turblown, see the proof below.

Hello,

Just wanted to give props to Turblown for all the advice and engineering provided into segwaying my Turbo II from stock to a reliable everyday driver.

I bought my 87 FC with 36k in miles for $1500. Everything was stock in great condition (so I thought). I was driving to work one morning and got on the off ramp, I realized there was black smoke coming from the hood scoop. I was stuck in traffic so I drove it about a block to work with this nasty black smoke coming out of the hood. Got into work and popped the hood and saw my near mint RX on fire just above the turbo manifold. I put the fire out and had no idea what I was gonna do. A service writer at my dealership recommended Turblown. I called them and they came out and gave me a free diagnosis.

They found my pulsation dampener dry rotted and leaked onto my turbo manifold and nearly burned up my RX. From that point on Elliott and Nick have help me set up my RX for a near future upgrade on my turbo and IC setup. I want to be at 500rwhp, and so far I'm almost there. The best business I have ever been involved with. These guys know what they are doing and really make it easy for you to make decisions on turning your slow stock RX into a monster. The mods they have done so far are: Haltech e6k (installed), AEM water/alcohol inj, custom downpipe, new fuel inj, new fuel pump, removal of the OMP to premix, K&N intake, new clutch fan thermo, I have spent well over $5000 with these guys and I have learned so many do's and don'ts. Turblown is the place to go! All these other shops are so mainstream I feel like a dollar sign everytime I walk in. When I go to Turblown (sometimes to just check out the projects theyre working on) I feel like family and so should every customer who does business with these guys. They truly are a mom & pops shop. I'm from the midwest about 250 miles from Elliott's hometown and when Im out at the shop I feel like Im back in WI, from the hospitality and customer service to the sound advice and vast knowledge these guys have. They know exactly how to make your RX7 a beast in the streets. Im so tired of seeing these
G37s, civics, 350zs, acuras as well as mustangs and vettes, pulling beside me and thinking they are have something under the hood thats different than the next fool revving his engine. I love my RX7 and I wouldnt want some jack hole who sees me as $$$ to work on my car. IF YOU WANT YOUR RX7 TO **** ON THE G37 BESIDE YOU REVVING HIS COFFEE CAN EXHAUST. Go to TURBLOWN. They love all rotarys and are experts. Even off the wall questions these guys know the answers. I watch these guys work on my RX. When an obstacle presents itself, you can watch Elliott stop, calculate and work things out in his head, and BAMM! theres a the solution!

No one will ever touch my RX but Turblown and thats how everyone who lives AZ should feel.
Im done ranting but ya gotta give props to these guys!!!! They are the best!!!!!

If you were an idiot that had work done by Turblown and didnt really listen to Turblown's advisories and cautions, and basically blew up your engine. Dont blame them for your ignorance. I heard of a few of these clowns out there blaming TURBLOWN for their own stupidity. It makes me sick! Everything I had done to my car and all the cautionaries I was disclosed keep my car running and moving towards 500rwhp! For all the blown engines take them to TURBLOWN........YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!!

I hate wrong and misleading information, so please correct me if IM wrong.
Since 87FC has been a member for this forum, only one person has been bitching about a blown Turblown motor. Amunoz3. I dont know where the "few of these clowns" came from. Unless there are others locally complaining. That i dont know. The other guy that he might be talking about is "rotary4life12" MIro (post 80 on Amunoz thread). Miro isnt bitching about blowing his engine. He is bitching about the FMIC installed upside down (http://www.turblown.net/fab.html) and the final cost of the rebuilt motor. Miro claimed he was never told to use premix because the OMP was removed. So was he told how to take care of his motor? Even if he was told that the OMP was removed, was he told to use premix? Most of us on the forum would know that we need to use premix, but there are some people out there that might not know. Im not saying Turblown didn't tell him, but for someone like MIRO you need to tell him everything very slowly. Make sure he understands. You remove the OMP you need to explain to that person what that entails. Miro blew his own motor. In my opinion that was Miro's fault, and again he isnt bitching about the qualitiy of work. Turblown did a great job on the rebuild, the car ran strong.
This picture on turblowns website.
I do not know this intercooler, so I am asking is this intercooler upside down?? Right there we can prove a point if Miro is lying. The final cost of the rebuild we would need Turblown input on their side of the story.

I was refering to not only Amunoz3, but two others in the PHX area that apparently had some issues. I saw Amunoz3's rx7 out at the shop many times, cant tell you anything other than I saw it. cool car, terrible listener.....

Well i will leave the Amunoz talk to the other thread.

Back to original topic.
Turblown does do some amazing work on exhaust and turbo set-ups.. Speaking from what I have seen and my own FD.. I personally think i have one of the best sounding FDs around. I took turblown a downpipe, and they costom built an amazing axhaust. I still get compliments a few years later.
