Won't Start
I bought a 1980 RX-7 a few weeks ago (it's a project car)
i gave her a full tune up & she fire'd right up - ran quite nicely (several successful starts w/no hesitation
next day - she wont start - confused
Please help - i am new to the rotary world - thanks

It may be flooded. Rx-7's have this goofy algorithm in the Map that causes a flood when you turn the car on when cold and shut it off before it warmed up. I am not sure if that is what you did but if it may be, you wiil need to unflood it. Try a search for "unflooding" or something similar.

Thanks for the input E. I do remember though, when i changed the plug the top ones were wet (gas & Oil) and the bottom ones were dry (just a little carbon). Is this normal?
I know it is not the original engine also - dual carbs also
Anymore advice?

First of all, I am kind of a moron
I just realized you have an 80 which has no ECU!
DOH!
I don't know why the trailing would be wet but not the leading. The only thory I have is that since the hole is so small where the trailing plugs go the gas just sits in there if there is no spark. I dunno.
It could be that your trailing are not firing. Since you have a distributor I assume the trailing fire all of the time so maybe I would pull all of the plugs and test them for spark. Although having said that since you have a distributor that means they all fire from the same coil! Sheesh! My mind set is for 86 and newer
Maybe try checking the carbs to make sure they aren't dumping in too much fuel.
Is anything unplugged? Maybe the coil wire or something?
