will 5 speed motor go into auto

have 86 with auto trans motor has low compression can i put a motor from a 5 speed in it

i belive they both bolt up the same... i think u will need to swap ur injectors out from the auto motor!..hopefully some one will chime in on this

You can change an automatic to a manual, but you cann't change a manual to a automatic. At least no in a FD I am not positve in a FC. The bolt patterns are diffrent between the two.

Sucks that you have an auto... but yes you can swap the motor. Don't know whether there are fuel system or manifold differences or not but the block is the same. I suspect the ECU is different but I am just bleeting out of my butt on that as I don't really know.

Tranny mounts on the FC body are different between the autos and manuals. You will need to cut them out and move them or cut a pair from another body and weld them in. Drilling out the spot welds causes the least amount of damage and needed follow up repair.
