10W30 for winter
20W40 for summer

Castrol GTX non-synthetic is all I use.

Royal Purple all the way. Visit their website and look at the faq dedicated to using Royal Purple in Mazda Rotaries. mazda made that statement 20 years ago regarding the use of synthetics, and the advancement of oils in that time have been quite significant.

In my own opinion, Synthetic oil can be used quite happily if it is a HIGH QUALITY synthetic like Royal Purple. other than Royal Purple, I wouldn't use any synthetics.

Use Valvoline 20w-50. Run thicker oil to keep oil pressure up, gotta take care of the turbo's (FD or Turbo II). This is what Mazcare uses. They are the RX-7 guru's in the Southeast. Marietta, GA to be exact, just happens to be my hometown.

Valvoline 20w-50 in the summer. Bottle has VR1 Racing or some crap wrote on it. I use the regular valvoline 10w-30 in the winter.

I use 20w50 Royal Purple ALL Season long because it doesnt get below 30deg F. 10w40 is known to leave a lot of carbon deposits. 10w30 is what others like to use.
