what happened?

I was startin my TII when suddenly white smoke starts coming out of the engine.I turn it off and pop the hood only to find out it burnt some wires. The problem is I dont know what it burnt or why it burnt it.It looked to be a red wire running from the battery to somewhere over in the right corner of the engine bay.Went to start the car and it turns over but wont start. It dosent smoke but now refuses to start.I was wondering if this was possibly a wire for the fuel pump?any ideas?

thanks

To be a mechanic is to get in there and get your hands dirty!
Look for the problem.
