Question What does "RX" stand for?

Just wondering what the R and the X in most of mazda's rotary engine vehicles stands for. The only mass production cars that I can think of that don't have "RX" is the REPU and the R100. I'm sure there could be more, but I'm not old enough to remember that far back.

That wouldn't make much sense in Japan, now would it?

Really seXy

At least thats how I look at it.

I still believe that all these names are just made up, some things have meanings, like SE, and LE and stuff liek that But some things are just left better unexplained.

And the REPU was the Rotary Engine PickUp truck. What about the R100? Wasn't that a rotary?
