have a coolent problem in my 86 n/a.what do think about this advice?sounds good to me
FYI - thought you might want some helpful info. I've owned and
> worked/modified a number of Rx-7's (great car)
> your car is losing coolant (probably)through a engine seal (leak). Has the car ever overheated? If so, there is probably a crack in or around the water jacket (common on rotaries that have overheated). Does your coolant overfill tank ever fill up/spill over with coolant after a hard drive? if not, it's probably a minor leak. If so, it's probably a crack in the water jacket. You can fix either problem by using a product called K&W block seal as long as rest of engine is fine (not excessively using oil) HOpe this info helps, Scott
fyi my engine has good comp and is in good shape just damm coolet problem.what do you guys think,k&w the trick?

Try it out, it can't really hurt. Have you checked all the hoses and TB for any leaks? The hose under the oil filter loves to rot out due to oil exposure, so check that first.
If you're still losing coolant, try that block weld stuff. It only costs about $4.

Block weld or Block Seal?
My block is leaking water into the combustion chamber and fouling up the plugs too. There's like 5 different brands of leak stop and I know they don't all work the same depending on the type of leak.
Does anyone know which brand is best for cracked block or blown water gasket? Also, is there a comparison test by Car Craft of Motor Trends or Popular Mechanics or something out there, which shows which brand worked best on cracked blocks, leaking head/housing gaskets?
P.S. How often do rotaries blow the housing gaskets? Is it as often as cracked block? My engine only has 109k miles on the original factory engine.
