turbo timers

i relize that a timer and a boost controller are different
i heard that a boost conroller will increase HP so what would i need a timer for. also in a 88TII i heard that the engine will cut off fuel at the rear rotar over 5.6 psi is this true?

I think someone posted a reply to this on the other forum or in a different thread so I will be brief.

Turbo oil gets hot so the timer lets you walk away and let the car run to cool down the turbo(s).

Yes, more boost = more HP.

Yes it is true but I forgot if it is 5.6 or something else.

Turbo timers are generally useless devices that keep your engine running for a set time after the key is turned off. I have never seen any proof that they actually do anything besides waste gas.

Boost controllers control boost. No, you won't get more horsepower from a boost controller, unless it allows you to run more boost. Obviously you won't get any horsepower from a turbo timer.

Fuel is cut off to the rear rotor at 8.6 psi. If you intend to boost over this you need an FCD (Fuel Cut Defenser) which tricks the computer into thinking there is less boost then there really is.
A Boost Controller, as stated above, controls boost. It does not inherently make your car faster. You need to raise the boost, and this in turn will make your car run faster.
