Ok i put another 5-sp tranny in my 87 gxl last night and theres something not right when i go to take off i get this chunky kinda dry gear noise that sounds like rock's allittle and as i drive my car it gets louder but sometimes it makes no noise at all...? Im wondering since the pilot and the throwout bearing are new and that when the car is parked with the clutch out it makes no noise true also in any gear after 3rd even reverse. Now the only thing i can think of is for some reason i grabbed 80w-140 gear oil instead of 90 weight can that do anything?
and the snycro's are great shift's awsome into every gear no problem. Now it may be the bearings in the tranny but im not soo sure yet because it doesnt make that whinning sound dead bearings make. Now im just up for anything here soo if anyone thats knows about tranny's s4 in general please chim in and help me solve this out. thank's
