Throttle/ Grounding Problem?

Hey guys, my name is Patrick. I bought my first rotary in February, 88 s4 Gxl. bought it with a cooling issue, swapped rad, no issue. Fixed. Now I don't know what to do. My car hits a wall anywhere between 2k-6k. It's really strange. It's intermittently occurring. It's like it's choking out or not getting enough fuel. The weird part is, is that it's only at full throttle. If I ease off the throttle, it's will sometimes accelerate, just slowly. Now the overall issue with the problem is not cut and dry. Its either an electrical issue or a fuel issue. I'm leaning towards electrical as it feels like its trying to flood itself when I accelerate. the car seems to not want to accelerate past 25% throttle in every gear and at any speed, but I still cant punch it as once the car gets passed its "point of less resistance in the rev range" (sorry for the weak explanation) and it falls on its face. I know my 5th and 6th ports aren't working(getting fixed sat. hopefully), but maybe fuel regulator, injectors, maf, maybe the deadly grounding issue? Idk. Stumped. Any help would be great! It's my daily( if she wants to work), so I can't keep taking things apart... Oh. What I've tried.. Swapped coils, ran injector cleaner and seafoam through, tps adjusted, tested maf sensor, and tps while problem was occurring, read out normal.

Does the car rev freely while in neutral?

Yes. And no. This problem is intermittently occurring, and sometimes, I can floor it and redline it, and most of the time, I can't. It's been getting worse over the past couple of weeks. I can free rev on slight pedal, but still only up to maybe 6k

A clogged cat could create these symptoms but it's not the only cause. Your fuel injectors might be gunked up too.

Me and the guys in town here, have ruled out the injectors, kind of due to the fact, that its not constantly happening. It does it when it wants to. and I've run all kinds of fuel cleaner. No change whatsoever.

And the cat and mufflers were replaced a couple years ago, by a p.o.

Fuel cleaner is more of a preventative treatment as opposed to curing an existing problem. But to address your point, you mentioned in your thread title the grounding issue. Have you since attacked that problem. Have you tested the Pressure Sensor?

No, I haven't. Digging into it on my day off on Saturday. I have not yet checked the pressure sensor yet. Could that be it?

The ground was corroded.. Stripped the wire, and reconnected it. Got the ports working. What else should I check tomorrow morning?

Okay.. Got the throttle body off to look at, and the thermowax pipes were terrible.. Explaining my high idle. 1 pipe was rusted and clogged, the other clogged, corroded, and broken. Bad.. But I reconnected everything and cleaned the thermowax to what I could. It didn't want to start at first, but got it running, and drove it. It was doing good, and redlined it. Then I got it fully warned up... There is a belt squeaking at anything over 5k... And the problem came back... Great. Back to square one.
