IA Thinking about buying an rx7

Alright... Im looking at buying a 88 RX7 convertable... I could not take it for a test drive because he said they had problems with it not starting and/or dieing on test drives and having to tow it back... Im thinking its ether an apex seal or the fuel injector thing... Would they let me do a compression test? Should I ask them if I could do it or have them do it? and is there anyting else I should check?

Its not an Apex Seal. Better get a compression test, but read how to do a proper test first.
