Spark plug won’t seat against the motor when hand screwing. Tips?
Hi all, I’ve been on a mission to start a ‘90 vert that’s been sitting for a little under 2 years. I started by adding a couple oz of oil to each leading hole, but I think I flooded the motor in the process of doing this so I pulled the plugs and egi fuse, cranked for 15 seconds, let it sit, repeat, let it sit, repeat, and inserted new plugs. Unfortunately the last trailing plug doesn’t seem to want to seat against the motor when hand screwing it in. I didn’t have any problems getting the old one out. It goes about 75% of the way in and then there is a lot of resistance. Is there any way to determine if there is just gunk in the threads or perhaps if the thread is screwed up in the motor?
thank you guys for your patience
