Solenoid ID for a NEWB

Hey guys, been searching the forums and the FSM and was curious if anyone knew what solenoid this was off the top of their head... I was tinkering around and saw frayed wires. I moved it a little and the brown wire split in two from corrosion. I noticed no vacuum lines were attached and was wondering if its even worth keeping in there. Looked FSM up and damn, I wish this thing was in hi-rez lol, anyways, scratching my head about what part this is all the ones I saw online had the connectors facing out vs. In... hoping one of the gurus could shed some light as to what exactly this part is. Fired the car up and everything seemed the same. Car is running in parallel.
