It's right next to the air box. You know your auxiliary ports won't open if you take it off, right?

On an S5 N/A (89-92) you need the air pump to open the auxiliary ports unless you rig something else up. Basically, these ports open at (give or take) 3,800 rpm and the VDI opens at 5,500 rpm to make more power. Taking the smog pump off will make it so they don't open anymore and you'll lose top end. You could rig them open, but it would be like "VTEC coming on at 1,200 rpms. "

There should be a rubber hose that's about an inch thick going from the air box to the smog pump. It's the pump that's the furthest left on your motor. I'd leave the smog pump on until you read more about the auxiliary ports. Just do a search for it in the 2nd gen tech section.

The easiest would be bolt-on's like a cone filter, header, and catback. I don't know if smogging your car is an issue where you live, but you could either go with high flow cats, or delete them altogether. Doing weight reduction is a big plus in my book cause it's almost free depending on how far you go (i.e. dry ice to remove sound deadening). Go to the 2nd gen archive and do a search for "beefy N/A" or check out the N/A performance forum.

Yeah, I don't know what a motorless parts car has to do with anything.
