slow crank; no turn over

Hey guys,

My 86 rx7 GXL is not turning over when I turn the key. It slowly cranks as if it wants to turn over but it won't. I have recently replace my alternator, batter and new plugs. Anyone have any ideas? My thoughts were it could be an o2 sensor, fuel fiter or fuel pump. Although from reading on some of the past archives, many mention it may be the starter. So at this point I am unsure of myself what the issue could be.

why dont you trying giving direct battery voltage to the starter see if it is cranking slowly? If so, your starting is going out. If not, there are too much resistance within the starting circuit.

good compression? check if you're getting spark from your spark plug wires, other than that check the starter if you've already changed the alternator..

Ok. thank you guys for your suggestions but I figured it out. Happens that the car was flooded. I used a technique I read from the forum to get it to run by holding down the clutch & gas pedal then turning the ignition half way to let some fuel run thru the fuel pump then starting it. I tried 4-5 times before I could get it running. A lot of smoke blew out the back.
