Cool Sequence of reliability buildup????

First, please see my member info on my current mods. Most were done for reliability.
The car has 25,140 original miles on it now.
I moved from PA to Las Vegas in July so before I left I had a Fluidyne radiator installed . (I have an M2 ASR bypass. Good? Bad?)
Next I'm adding 2 Crooked Willow oil coolers FOR CERTAIN.

Then..., since I've already moved my battery to the passenger seat compartment I'm thinking of POWER /RELIABILITY upgrades: (all in one package install).
1. Power FC computer pkg. (I'm afraid of Haltech & AEM due to lack of good installer tuners.)
2.larger fuel pump (Which one?)
3.larger secondary injectors (Which brand?)
4.Pettit large intercooler (factory position but extending into old battery location)
5.M2-style cold air box W/ dual K&N cone filters
6.of course, new intercooler pipes (is an an Efini Y-pipe a wise move?)
7.some sort of additional fuel management (What kind/brand?)

Anything else that is really necessary in this package install?

Finally, in the winter of 2005 I'll do a Tein FLEX coilover upgrade W/ dash-mounted EDFC controls. and maybe a Stoptech brake setup.

My thoughts on your questions.
1) I love my pfc, very simple install and works great right out of the box. There are also alot of people that know how to tune it. Cant really go wrong with that ECU.

2) Walbro and Supra fuel pumps seem to be the common choices. Personally, I dont think your mods list looks like it is enough to worry about a pump upgrade, but if that is what you want I wont try and stop you.

3) Once again doesnt sound like you have enough mods or are even planning enough to worry about upgraded injectors. Basically upgrading injectors you have 2 options. 1300cc which are all stock injectors drilled out and 1600cc which usually mean emissions removal. 1300cc have an increased failure rate which is definately does not make for a good reliability mod and removal of emissions for 1600cc possibly means you wont be able to register the car. I am not sure of emissions laws in Vegas. I would probably not do injector upgrades until you are ready for upgraded turbos.

4) I know nothing about this intercooler. Pettit makes some nice stuff so I imagine they should be fine.

5) Any intake will do. It has been shown that the stock box is the best for pulling in cool air, but it needs to be modded to pull in the volume that any of the aftermarket intakes will handle.

6) Not sure on Pettit large intercooler, but some intercoolers come with parts to connect with a coupler to stock y-pipe eliminating the cross over. Check with the IC kit before making this determination. The Efini y-pipe will not give you much for results, the main point of it is to eliminate a coupler and to add bling to the engine bay.

7) What other fuel management are you thinking of? There isnt anything else you could possibly control that the PFC wont already be handling.

For the Vegas heat the important things are to keep up on your cooling system. The fluidyne is a good start but always keep an eye on the condition of your hoses. Remember, there are alot more hoses than just the main upper and lower radiator lines.
Also look at ducting air through the radiator. Stock configuration there is alot of room for air to escape around the radiator without having to go through it. Eliminate these holes and your cooling system will be much more efficient.

Do you have a down pipe? Definately a stainless down pipe to eliminate the pre-cat is a huge +++++. The stock cast piece just heats up and seems to retain heat forever baking the engine bay. You already have turbos for that, throw a nice down pipe on there and alot of heat soak will go away with that. I high flow cat is also alot smaller and lighter which means it will cool down alot faster as well.

Also, more controversial is Evans coolant. I run it because it wont boil, well not until something like 375 degrees. Evans will also allow you to run lower or no pressure radiator cap. That makes it easier on the hoses I would imagine.

I have a Walbro 255. I like how quiet it ran while testing it dry for a few seconds to check my wiring job. If it stays that quiet when in actual use (with fuel in it) I'll be happy.

Heh, well I upgraded from a Carter (carb to EFI swap), and Carters are usually complained about as being very loud, so that's where the quietness came from. It's also on some rubber standoffs. I doubt I'll even hear it when the engine is running.
