SECONG GEN MIATA w/ ROTARY!*&@&*

I love the rotary TOO MUCH!!! and instead of spending 3000-3500 bucks to get a supercharger kit I much rather swap a 13b-REW TWin turbine =) or a turbo 2 set up on it =) Anyways guys I need HELP a lot of it =) gracias... I own a 99 base by the way

Well... I know i need a t2 engine I suppose if the 13b REW is too difficult aka expensive to do. A stand alone but are there any kits ou tthere ot make this simple? or doable?

There are no kits that I know of ot make it "simple". Infact I really dont think there is a simple way of doing it!

Lots of custom fabricating and wiring to make it work!

If you dont have the tools, then take it to a rotary shop that knows what they are doing, I know, it might be hard to find someone who does know what they are doing lol.

Personally, I wouldn't think this would be a good idea (aka cost-effective). The costs - and the problems - will really add up.

There actually is a kit available. Forget who produces it. Think they're out of Florida. For around 4-5k you could put together a turbo system with standalone that can put 300 to the wheels on the Miata 1.8. Enough to easily snap every drivetrain part. For about 3-4 times that amount you can stuff a stock turboed rotary in there. Struggle to make the same power with a TII engine. Just enough to easily snap every drivetrain part.

There's a reason not to many people do the swap. It doesn't make a lot of sense.

You think it's just going to fall in the engine bay and plug up? This is not a shade tree swap. There is a reason you see very few of these cars swapped. That translates into very expensive.

You want a fast Miata turbo the boinger. You want something that sounds like a rotary buy an RX-7.

Ludwig speaks the truth.

I have been in the miata world for over 6years now. I have saw like 4-5 completed rotary miata street cars in that time that didnt have severely compromised streetability.

You want a fast turbo miata... the stock BP that comes in them is the way to go. The rotary is probably the hardest engine to swap into a miata. An LS1 or 5.0 V8 is even easier. (and cheaper to boot)

You guys have no faith!

I could easily do a T2 engine convertion into a Miata for roughly $6000 CDN from start to finish. That includes a Haltech and the car would put down about 250 whp.

That would be a damn fun car!

Go to www.miataforum.com and search for rotary swap. There is a company based out of florida that will privde you with everything needed minus engine and trans, including new axles and things needed to align everything. The kit retails for like $5k, but really it is very, very complete.

And I can...oh wait I have made over 250 whp by turboing a Miata boinger for about $4000US including the Haltech. It was orders of magnitude easier, quicker to accomplish, and got 30+ mpg. The rotary swap just doesn't make sense in any stretch of the imagination.
