OR s5 altenator on s4 car

plez help , some 1 said i need to run a seperate wire to fuse.is that true?

true,, "S" terminal ( pin closest to the B+ post ) needs to be wired directly to the EGI fuse,, or the battery
( or starter post in cars with remote mount battery )

do not use the redundant "R" terminal wiring from the old alt plug
it will amount to be a trickle down drain if hooked up


also,, cars with s5 alts have OEM harness with twinned B+ wires
while s4 alt cars have only one B+ wire
this is due to s5 alts having higher rated amp output
so,, it will also pay to add another B+ of suitable gauge for the current intended directly to the battery or EGI fuse
