ok, first off.... year and such, give us something to work with..... It will be handy to have stat's as well, i.e. boost controller, fuel managment so forth, as these can be VERY important factors.

it should be fine for your motor probly find the nearest shop that will work on the 7 and take it there or if you want to have fun put it on yourself which if there is a heat shield on it and its a turbo car then it will probly suck but it can be done look around on here and find a tech article or something that will explain it to you good luck with your new 7

you need new gaskets to install it. they should be available at any auto parts store, just tell em the model and stuff.

thats if its stock otherwise, if not you will just have to take it apart and take the old gaskets in to them.

other than that, sometimes exhaust bolts are a pain to get loose, but it should be fairly simple all in all.

But you also need to be careful with the Midpipe, if there isn't a boost controller on the car, if you open the exhaust too much, you'll get boost creep and spiking.... not good.... good luck!

ok thanx guys but im afraid that if i just put in the down pipe that i may need other things to install first..... im afraid that just that straight pipe will harm the engine .... is it possible just to run it with just that down pipe? and will i be back firing alot after installled?

is everything else on the car stock?

if so, you should be ok with just the dp. if anything else has been upgraded, then you need a boost controller at least, possible some other stuff.

my best suggestion is just to spend a few hours browsing the forum and try to learn some stuff about how all these things work and go together.

Some PB Blaser to spray on any rusted nuts before you start taking the old exhaust off.
Also some jack stands.

yeah, for now go ahead and go to an auto shop and tell them what you have so you can get the gaskets you need then just stick the downpipe on there, and later after researching the board a little more you may want to put the midpipe on there. but between the downpipe and the midpipe the car will have a lot more power, it will be noticably faster

I thought you said you were a chick but your profile says your a dude. I think you guys are getting played. Cracks me up how fast people here respond to a female post. If this was a dude/noob you would all be flaming him and hitting him with the SEARCH bomb response. Good one rotorhead566 I like your sense of humor.

well, if you drove a 2nd gen Eclipse, shame on you, if you drove a 1st gen, it's okay, they're a decent ride....

please PLEASE do not install that midpipe with out a boost controller, and if it doesn't have one already BUY A BOOST GAUGE....

DANGER WILL ROBINSON DANGER!

starting from the engine, you have manifold, turbos, downpipe, midpipe, catback.

the downpipe is the part of the exhaust you can see in the engine bay. the midpipe is the next section after that.

Down pipe good.... MIDPIPE BAD.... Once you get a boost controller, and can manage it properly, then you can put in the midpipe.... HOWEVER, if you're in a state with emissions controls, this is bad news for you. If not, rock and roll, and **** off the neighbors!

Why don't you create a new account instead of using your "bro's" sig?
