rusty advice

hey guys i have an 87 ae86 with a 13b from my old gsl-se and i pulled off my waterpump to put a new one on and i saw a little bit of rust. now what is the best way clean this up. im thinking im thinking media blast but would i primer it or put some type of protective coating to keep it from rusting? any help eould be appreciated

Deffinetly bead blast that thing. Then wash and paint, if you want to go highend powdercoat it.
