Removing Ignition Booster (newbie question)

I just bought a 1993 FD in VA. It was previously registered out of state, and to register it in VA I need to pass emissions. The car is almost completely stock with a couple reliability mods.

I took the car to get emissions tested today, and the RPM sensor clipped on a spark plug wire couldn't read the RPM's, so I failed... Currently there is a Jacobs Electronics Rotary Pro Pak ignition booster on the car. One of the techs at the place I took it said that could be the problem. I did a bunch of searching here, and elsewhere and it seems like the multispark could be causing my problem.

What I want to do is rip the ignition boost out, pass emissions and put it back on. Problem is I can't figure out how to yank it out. It has 4 wires that go to 2 plugs under the elbow into the intake manifold and a red and black that look like power. Can I just unplug those two plugs and plug the them into each other? I am not sure how this thing is wired... Does it sit between the coil and the igniter and I can just bypass it, by plugging the two plugs into each other? Since it only has 4 wires does that mean it is only boosting the leading plugs and putting the sensor on the trailing plugs would alleviate the problem, even leaving the boost pak in there?

Sorry for the newbie question and thanks for the help!

Frank
