Rebuilt Clutch or Brand New?

Hi, my stock clutch is giving out on my FD and I wanna replace it as soon as possible. My friend has a rebuilt Ogura Racing Clutch single plate and I'm considering buying it. However, I kinda feel uneasy about buying a used clutch. What do you guys think? Should I go brand new, or is rebuilt as good as new? And if no to the used, what brand of clutch should I go for? I'm trying to go with something a bit more grippy and aggressive then stock, for street and occasional track use, I dont mind if it feels stiffer. Thanks!!

How exactly does someone rebuild a clutch??
Sounds frickin odd.
ACT street / strip was the most common upgrade from stock for your typical FD running twins

Never mind. I see it's a multi plate real racing clutch. Not sure how streetable that is but probably not as smooth as a traditional clutch since it is more focused on a racing application...

it’s like one, but single disc

which you can get a Tilton race clutch in single disc as well

it just depends who rebuilt it; Ogura or someplace else and then how well it fits your particular application

in general when buying “rebuilt” things like an engine etc. I tend to be extremely leery depending on whether it’s a stranger or somebody I can trust; not just trust in their word, but their ability to know and understand the situation as well.

if it was fleabay etc. no way jose ….

i was looking at an ad for one of these, and the google translate called the Tilton the "clutch of the people"
